Exceed And Excel added another juvenile Stakes winner to his excellent record on Saturday June 4, when his son Fulbright landed the Listed Woodcote Stakes at Epsom. Never far off the pace, he duelled with the pace-setting On The Dark Side (a Kheleyf colt that stayed on to finish third) early in the straight before staying on best of all to record a length-and-a-quarter triumph.
A half-brother to two Stakes winners in Baltic King and Domingues, he was bred by Robin & Scarlett Knipe and was sold as a foal at Tattersalls for 52,000Gns.
Exceed And Excel has an enviable record with his juveniles in both Europe and Australia. This season alone he has sired the dual G1-scorer Helmet in Australia and in Europe, Fulbright becomes his second Stakes winner from his 2009 crop after Pyman's Theory's victory in the National Stakes at Sandown.
Famed for siring Royal Ascot juveniles, where he has sired twice as many Stakes horses as any other stallion since 2008, this year will see a formidable arsenal heading to the Berkshire track, headed by his two Stakes winners and a plethora of impressive Maiden winners including Best Terms, Burwaaz, Dozy and Sajwah. He is due to stand this season at Kelvinside, NSW at a fee of $66,000 inc GST.
