A second Black-Type victory for Another Wil.

Son of Street Boss enhances record in Listed Testa Rossa Stakes to give Darley sire third feature-race success in three weeks.

Promising Street Boss galloper Another Wil overcame interference in the home straight to win the Listed Testa Rossa Stakes over 1,400m at Caulfield on Saturday, 21 September, recording the second Stakes victory of his 10-start career.

With jockey Jamie Kah angling for a run along the fence at the 300m mark, Another Wil was hampered by Run Harry Run but still drew clear to beat Wishlor Lass by 1.5 lengths. Run Harry Run raced erratically but hung for third, three-quarters of a length away.

Winner of the G3 Doncaster Prelude over 1,500m at Rosehill Gardens in March, Another Wil also notched his second win since resuming from a spell and took his record under Ballarat trainer Ciaron Maher to an impressive seven wins and two placings.

Bred by Mrs J. Thomson and out of the Australian mare Arohanui, the five-year-old gelding has now amassed prize-money of $586,925.

His victory continued a terrific run for Darley’s US-bred stallion Street Boss, who has now sired 956 winners of 2,835 races worldwide – including 73 individual Stakes-race winners of 147 Black-Type events.

Just in the past three weeks, Pinstriped (out of Snitzel Blitz) won the G1 Memsie Stakes over 1,400m at Caulfield, Vitality (Belissimo) won the Listed Prince Of Wales Stakes over 1,900m at Fort Erie and rising three-year-old star Traffic Warden (Efficiently) resumed with a devastating victory in the G2 Run To The Rose over 1,200m at Rosehill Gardens.

Street Boss stands this season at Darley’s Northwood Park property in Victoria for a service fee of $66,000, GST inclusive.
