Tipinso, a first-crop son of Pinatubo, impressed when winning for the first time on Monday, 19 August. The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained colt had been a debut fourth at Le Teste, and improving for the debut experience, he was not hard pressed to the land a Maiden at Vichy by one-and-three-quarter lengths.
Bred by Haras de Montaigu,Tipinso is the second winner bred out of the Makfi mare Makeba, after Blue Point’s multiple juvenile scorer Mondrial. The unraced Makeba is a half-sister to Champion European stayer Morgan Le Faye.
Pinatubo has some exciting first-crop juveniles likely to contest Stakes races in the coming weeks; Wolf Of Badenoch, last seen when second in the G2 Vintage Stakes, unbeaten colt Andesite and Cavallo Bay, winner of his last two starts and likely to head to the US for Group race at Saratoga later this month.
